EVET

Students at Bonnyrigg High School have the option to study a VET course through TAFENSW or other training providers. You’ll get a head start while still at school with an EVET course. From Community Services, to barbering and Electrotechnology courses, TAFE have just about all interests and industries covered.

EVET courses are available to all students in Year 11 and 12 (Stage 6), as well as students in Year 9 and 10 (stage 5).

Stage 6 EVET courses count towards your HSC, and some courses can even contribute towards your Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). To view the available options and discover which EVET pathway is right for you, download a copy of the EVET guide today. Additional Information for Parents and students can be found here.

Information for EVET courses

Please consider carefully – an EVET course:

  • May require study outside of school hours, courses can run in the afternoon or over a full school day.
  • May involve compulsory Work Placement.
  • Requires consistent attendance every week – regardless of work/sport commitments.
  • Student is responsible for their own transport to and from the TAFE campus.
  • Students must commit to completing the course.

How to apply

  1. Select your course: Search through the EVET guide and consider which course you would like to study. You can only study ONE Externally Delivered TAFE course at a time.

  2. Apply for a USI: https://www.usi.gov.au/students/get-a-usi

  3. Complete the EVET EOI Form – Completion of an EOI does not guarantee a place in a course. Further discussion is required, and TAFE makes the final decision. Students will be informed about the outcome of their application by late November. Once you have completed the EVET EOI, you must return it to Miss Vassalli in Careers, or you can email the completed form to the school.
