NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.
With SRE teachers from local churches, students ask questions, explore the Bible and discover the Good News of Jesus Christ and what it means to be a Christian in our world today. Lessons are age-appropriate, fun and inclusive.
Bonnyrigg aims to meet the Spiritual wellbeing of students in years 7 and 8 by offering the following special religious education:
- Christian – run by the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, the Baptist Union of NSW, Churches of Christ in NSW and ACT and the Presbyterian Church of NSW with reference to the CEP Curriculum Overview and Curriculum, Scope & Sequence
This is held every second Friday:
Students who do not participate in SRE will be given meaningful activities during this time.
