Library

The library is central to the academic and cultural life of the Bonnyrigg High School. Its primary function is to contribute to levels of academic attainment by giving all pupils equal access to appropriate and relevant information to support their studies.

The library aims to:

  • increase pupils' confidence in locating and handling information in a variety of media
  • extend and develop pupils' reading for pleasure by providing a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction
  • develop competence in the use of information technology to access, evaluate and process information

OPENING HOURS

The library is open every day

Tuesday - Friday 8am -  3.30pm

Monday 8am - 3pm (closed at recess)

We open for recess and lunch every day (except Monday)

 

What can be borrowed?

Years 7 to 9 - 6 Items (3 fictions and 3 non-fiction)

Years 10 to 12 - 12 Items (6 fiction and 6 non-fiction)

Senior study guides may not be taken from the library but are available throughout the school day and can have 10% photocopied.

This platform contains eBooks and audiobooks that can be read on a computer or laptop or downloaded as an app on your devices.

Clickview

Features a range of videos, documentaries, tutorials, subject based material and movies which can aid your learning and be used for research. Sign in with your DET email (firstname.lastname@det.nsw.edu.au). This can be also installed as an app on your devices. 

Other activities:

The library runs several activities events and activities throughout the year including Book Week and Makers club. Announcements are posted on Sentral.

Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC)

The PRC is open to students from K-9. Students can enter the books they have read at https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html. Students can look up for PRC books on Oliver or simply look for the yellow dot stickers on the books in our library. If you need help ask our librarians.
