Social-Emotional Domain

At Bonnyrigg High School, our social-emotional domain program is dedicated to developing students' natural abilities in self-management and their skills in relating to and interacting with others. Students who exhibit potential in the social-emotional domain often demonstrate advanced organisational and management skills, superior social and communication abilities, emotional stability, empathy, and leadership and decision-making skills. They are resilient, self-aware, can foresee the consequences and implications of decisions, are respected by their peers, self-confident, skilled in task analysis and backwards mapping, and advocate for social justice.

Our program offers various opportunities for students to hone these skills and take on leadership roles. Students can participate in the Student Representative Council, serve as house leaders, and become BE leaders in Years 9 and 10. We also have positions such as the Anzac Ambassadors and Indigenous Ambassadors, enabling students to represent and champion important initiatives.

Additionally, students can join the peer support and wellbeing teams, providing them with platforms to support their peers and contribute to the school community's overall wellbeing. Through these initiatives, we aim to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students can develop their social-emotional skills, preparing them to be empathetic, responsible, and effective leaders in the wider community.
